The sweeps are to let you know of any and all repairs needed, give you a quote for the repairs, and leave it up to the customer to decide if they wish to get the repairs done, get a second opinion, or whatever they want to do about the recommendations. Nigel Hoyt of Your Chimney Sweeps was prompt, professional and efficient. He checked the damper, explained the reason for it to remain open and fixed the problem to ensure it remained open should it inadvertently get closed. Also charged exactly what he said it would be. $69.00 and $15.00 for part. Also put in a longer screw to ensure it remained open per regulation. I would highly recommend Nigel to my family and friends.
This company made a 25 year old fireplace look brand new. I was very pleased with the look.
